What is the difference between a limit order and a stop order?

A limit order will only execute if your conditions have been met – you will get exactly the price you chose or better. If there is not enough of the cryptocurrency available on the market at the price you chose, only a part of the limit order will be executed.

A stop order will execute when the market reaches the conditions you have set, but will continue to be carried out in full, even if the conditions worsen while the order still hasn’t closed.

This comes into play when the market is very volatile and it is not possible to complete your entire order before the price changes.
