Qovex US Tax Information

For the 2024 US tax season, Qovex will issue eligible customers a Form 1099-K and/or Form 1099-MISC the latest by 31 January 2025.

AM I ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE FORM 1099-K AND/OR FORM 1099-MISC?

To be eligible for a Form 1099-K you must meet the following criteria:

  • You must be a Qovex USA, Inc. customer.
  • You must have executed one or more trades, whose total value is equal to or greater than $5,000 OR met your state's 1099-K reporting thresholds.
  • You must be subject to US taxes.

To be eligible for a Form 1099-MISC you must meet the follow criteria:

  • You must be a Qovex USA, Inc. customer.
  • You earned $600 or more in miscellaneous income such as rewards, airdrops and/or staking.
  • You must be subject to US taxes.

HOW DO I ACCESS MY FORM 1099-K AND/OR FORM 1099-MISC?

If you met the reporting threshold (detailed above) in 2024, Qovex will issue you a Form 1099-K and/or Form 1099-MISC. You will receive the Form 1099-K and/or Form 1099-MISC document via email and can also access it anytime on the Tax Forms section of the Qovex website after login.

WHAT INFORMATION IS REPORTED ON FORM 1099-K?

Form 1099-K reports third-party network payments received for the calendar year. Qovex is required to report gross proceeds from all Digital Asset-for-USD sales and Digital Asset-for-Digital Asset sales executed on the Qovex exchange when applicable reporting thresholds are met.

WHAT INFORMATION IS REPORTED ON FORM 1099-MISC?

Form 1099-MISC reports miscellaneous income received for the calendar year (such as e.g., income from staking, rewards, airdrops). Qovex is required to report any miscellaneous income earned on the Qovex exchange when applicable reporting threshold is met.


WHAT INFORMATION IS NOT INCLUDED WITHIN FORM 1099-K?

Form 1099-K is informational and does not show gains or losses or cost basis. Note that Form 1099-K is NOT the same as Form 1099-B (which shows either gross proceeds or gains/losses from broker transactions).

WHAT INFORMATION IS NOT INCLUDED WITHIN FORM 1099-MISC?

Form 1099-MISC is informational and does not show any other income received or made apart from the one mentioned above.

DOES BITSTAMP PROVIDE FORM 1099-B?

No. We do not provide Form 1099-Bs at this time.

I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY FORMS FROM BITSTAMP. DO I STILL NEED TO REPORT ON MY US TAXES?

WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD MY TRANSACTION HISTORY?

To download your transaction history, log into your account and following the steps below:

  1. Go to History → Transactions
  2. Click on "Export" on the top right of the screen.
  3. Select transaction types, currencies and date range and click "Export Selection".

WHAT IS A B-NOTICE AND WHY DID I RECEIVE ONE FROM THE IRS?

You may receive an IRS B-Notice for any discrepancies with your Social Security Number (SSN) and legal name used by Qovex to file the Form 1099-K and/or Form 1099-MISC with the IRS. The B-Notice will:

  • Let you know what additional information is needed or what needs to be corrected.
  • Inform you what needs to be provided in addition to updating or correcting your name or SSN.
