How does PSD2 SCA affect API trading?

The PSD2 SCA, or Strong Customer Authentication, directive is a European regulatory requirement that aims to reduce fraud and make online payments more secure. It requires the use of two-factor authentication (2FA) for certain actions that are linked to your account, such as initiating bank transfers.

The PSD2 directive only affects EU-based customers trading on Qovex Europe S.A.

PSD2 REQUIREMENTS FOR API USERS

PSD2 SCA has certain requirements for API users. When initiating bank transfers through API, you have to:

  • Enable your API key for bank withdrawals
  • Enable IP whitelisting
  • Change the keys you use for bank withdrawals every 90 days

If you don’t enable IP whitelisting, or if your keys are older than 90 days, bank withdrawals will no longer be possible through API. No other API functionality will be affected by this.
